International film shoots, in France and abroad
You're a production company, an agency, a brand or an NGO. Maybe you need a crew on the ground in France, or maybe your story is happening in another country and you need someone to go and film it. I'm Victor Desmettre, a director and videographer based in Lille. I work in English, I travel light, and I've filmed in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and the UK.
A director who travels with your story
I travel to film your projects abroad
I bring my own equipment, drone included, and I follow your teams wherever the story is: a field mission, an event, a project on the ground, a series of interviews. Geneva, Paris, Madrid, Brussels, Palermo or London: wherever it is, I travel light, often alone. It keeps travel costs down, and above all it lets me blend in, so the people I film stay themselves. I edit the film myself, so the person who was there is the one who tells the story.
Your crew on the ground in France
If you're based abroad and need to film in France, I can take care of your shoot from the first location scout to the delivery of the files.
- Filming: corporate films, events, interviews, documentaries and promotional content, as director or as camera operator for your own director.
- Aerial footage: I'm a certified drone pilot and I handle flight authorisations with the French authorities myself.
- Photography on set, for the stills you need alongside the film.
- Post-production: editing, colour grading and sound, or delivery of the rushes to your own team.
- Local support: location scouting, contacts with venues and local partners, and technicians I trust when the shoot needs a bigger crew.
Where I'm based
Lille is a short train ride from Paris, Brussels and London, which makes it an easy starting point for shoots in France and in neighbouring countries. In France, I film in Paris, in the north, in Brittany and western France, and anywhere else in the country. I also travel in a converted van, which makes long trips and multi-day shoots easier.
Drone flights, in France and abroad
French drone rules are strict, especially in cities and around Paris. In built-up areas, each flight has to be declared to the local authorities at least ten working days ahead. My certification follows European rules, which makes flying in other European countries simpler. Wherever we go, I check what's allowed at each location, prepare the requests and tell you early what's possible, so there are no surprises on the day.
How we work together
We start with a call or a video call to understand your project, your schedule and what you need to deliver. I then send you a detailed quote in euros, travel included. Files are delivered in the formats you need, by download link.
